Nature Valley and National Parks Conservation Association celebrate more than eight years of protecting our national parks together.
Washington, D.C. – As a brand that encourages exploration, Nature Valley today is kicking off another year of its partnership with National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the leading voice working to strengthen and protect America’s national parks. Together, the organizations are working to help make real change – banding together advocates of the great outdoors to protect and enhance our national parks. Since Nature Valley introduced the world’s first granola bar in 1975, they have been fueling explorers with the real energy they need for wherever life takes them – including fueling real change.
Today, on #GivingTuesday, Nature Valley is announcing its continued commitment to NPCA – and its nearly 100-year legacy and mission to protect and preserve America’s national parks – by extending its support through 2018. Nature Valley is encouraging its fans to make an impact during today’s global giving movement by donating to NPCA at npca.org/naturevalley. The financial impact will be doubled as donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000, thanks to a generous member of NPCA’s Board of Trustees.
This year, Nature Valley will donate more than $250,000 to support work to protect and enhance our national parks, including mobilizing NPCA’s more than 1.3 million members and supporters and its next generation of national park advocates, the Next Generation Advisory Council. Nature Valley is also encouraging fans to make a difference through participating in public volunteer events at our national parks, supporting this partnership on social media and through additional donations to NPCA. “Nature Valley has been a proud supporter and proponent of our national parks for many years,” said Angela Rassi, director of marketing for Nature Valley. "Our newest initiatives with National Parks Conservation Association will help ensure America’s favorite places will be enjoyed by future generations for years to come.”
Since 2009, Nature Valley has supported NPCA and its work for a total contribution of nearly $3 million. This has included removing obstructive fencing near Yellowstone to protect migration patterns of endangered pronghorn, to coral reef restoration supporting Biscayne National Park in South Florida.
“We are thrilled that Nature Valley shares our desire to protect and preserve our national parks, and are excited to grow our partnership in new and impactful ways,” said Theresa Pierno, president and CEO for National Parks Conservation Association. “As our national parks continue to face threats, from inadequate funding, to natural disasters and much more, we are thankful for Nature Valley’s continued support in joining us to speak up for the national parks.”
