Greetings from Grand Teton National Park

Fifty-two years ago, my family and I took a car trip from Wilmington, DE to Los Angeles and back again. Along the way, we stopped at numerous national parks, mostly in the southwest and west. That was the most fun and educational and beautiful trip of my life–my appreciation for my country grew by leaps and bounds immeasurably. I can remember some parks as if I had visited them yesterday. Were it not for the national park system, I would be a lesser person for lack of it. I truly hope that current and future generations will be able to enjoy the same as I did.

Sincerely,
Casey

Grand Teton National Park

This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.

State(s): Wyoming

Established: 1929

“Americans and other visitors can enjoy the physical beauty and native wildlife that makes up our wonderful country. I only hope people will continue to be able to see the wonder of national parks for years to come. ”
