Greetings from Glacier National Park

As I stepped out of the bus and arrived at the campgrounds, I realized that I had not considered myself a nature person. Why go out when I can relax in my bed with some snacks and watch YouTube? I thought that I would have to deal with suffocating heat, tiring hikes, and uncomfortable living spaces. I was around new people and in a totally different environment than the one back in my urban home.

However, on the first hike in Glacier National Park, I was totally shocked by what was around me. My ears could hear leaves rustling and birds chirping, my nose could breathe in fresh air that opened up my lungs, my arms and legs could feel the soft leaves and plants brush against me. But what was I saw was the greatest. The enormous mountains and crystal-clear lakes were absolutely beautiful, and even on the hikes I was able to see rays of sunlight shone through the gaps of leaves and branches, the little birds sped across the sky, and the vibrant colors of flowers peeked through the ground. The ten days that I experienced at Glacier made me appreciate the beauty of the national parks and the wildlife in them.

Sincerely,
Austin
