Greetings from Yellowstone National Park

Back in 1989, I had a 3 week vacation. I packed my pickup truck with a cap on the back. I drove cross country from NH. I stopped in Yellowstone starting in the Northeast Passage. I drove the Loop one day and saw all of the “touristy” spots. The next day I decided to climb a mountain. I was breaking all the rules about hiking alone. I had only gone a short distance and came upon a group of trail workers that were going to the top to restock the ranger station. I sheepishly asked to hike with them the rest of the way. They allowed me to join them, people from all over the US. I helped a woman from Chicago who was struggling make it to the summit. They were staying overnight and allowed me to stay also. In the morning we saw a Marten scrambling around the rocky mountain top. I spent 3 days in Yellowstone and they were some of the best of my life.

Sincerely,
George
