Greetings from Yellowstone National Park

I was still in college and had been accepted to work at YP for the summer of either 1951 or 1952. I was a girl from Ohio who had never been out west. This was a true turning point in my life. What an incredible experience! I was a waitress at Lake Lodge. A terrific group of young people who became fast friends. The Park was absolutely amazing- all the hot springs, geysers, wild animals. The beautiful forests, valleys, mountains… enchanting. Here I learned to respect Nature in all its glory. Although that all happened such a long time ago, I relish the memories. I did move out west when I graduated and live now in Arizona. I am so grateful for our National Parks! A few years ago I hiked a hut-to-hut in Yosemite; a small group led by one of the Park Rangers – again, another phenomenal experience!! Thank you!

Sincerely,
Patty

It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.

My wife and I love Yellowstone NP and were able to share a journey to the park with our grandson. It was his first trip to see the beauty of the park. He had the bonus of getting to see a black bear up close and personal.
