My venture on the Cataract trail in Mount Tamalpais, also known as Mount Tam, with my roommate was one for the books. We have been bickering lately and feeling disconnected, so our day trip on the trail was the perfect cure. The trail loop is about 7-8 miles total, so we took our time and swam in all the little swimming holes below the soft falling water falls. The only reason we would leave one swim hole and go to the next was because there were massive flies having a field day around us. It was sad that we could clearly tell the water in the creek bed used to flow much more abundant and rapidly, but we were still able to experience part of the river. Along with being beside the river, we were under the canopy of trees, which really allowed us to reflect and resolve our issues without even having to sit down and have a ‘discussion’ about it. We were able to just walk around, talk, laugh, have a great time, and reconnect. Mount Tam is a great place with a wonderful vibe. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone that is looking for a fun and freeing day to be in nature. #SFSU
