Greetings from Grand Canyon National Park

My parents went to the Grand Canyon in the late 1920s before I was born. They took me and my three sisters to the Grand Canyon, among other parks such as Yellowstone, Carlsbad and Yosemite on a great family vacation after World War II. My husband and I took our four children to all these parks plus Glacier and the Sequoias on our way to Alaska and back in the early 1960s. We went to Mt McKinley (now Denali) when we were in Alaska . We went with some of our grandchildren to the Grand Canyon about 20 years ago and all had a wonderful, inspiring experience. I am unable to do these things now, but I know my grandchildren will take their children to as many National Parks as they can, and I have many wonderful memories. We all need our National Parks kept in good repair, saved from commercialization and so called development, and accessible to as many people as possible within these guidelines. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Patricia Grames

Grand Canyon National Park

This world-famous landmark offers wondrous views, spectacular hiking, exhilarating whitewater rafting and countless adventures. One look across the enormous chasm confirms just why this inspirational place is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a must-see destination for so many travelers. The park also protects a wealth of biological diversity, including numerous endemic and threatened species and several rare ecosystems.

“They are wonderful for people for many reasons, and the U.S. probably has more beautiful and unique parks than any other country in the world for everyone to visit. We should be proud of them and care for them and save them for future generations to enjoy.”
