Greetings from Grand Teton National Park

I have been very fortunate to visit dozens of our National Parks, but my favorite is Grand Teton. I am lucky because my family lives in Jackson Hole so I get to see this view often. This was taken December 2016 when we took a drive to spot wildlife. We saw elk, antelope, big horn sheep (all on the National Elk Refuge) and in the park we saw 4 moose, a herd of bison, 3 foxes, a bald eagle and a kingfisher. Winter is a great time to see wildlife in the park.

Sincerely,
Marybeth

Grand Teton National Park

This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.

“Our National Parks are a treasure, I meet people visiting from all over the world who are amazed that we have such splendor here and remark how lucky we are that our forefathers had the insight to preserve it. Let's not throw away our heritage now to big oil, mining and greed.”
