I was lucky enough to spend two summers as an intern at The Eisenhower National Historic Site. During that time, I was able to explore Eisenhower’s life and times. EISE is such an amazing place! Whether your interest is military history, Cold War era politics, the presidency, the secret service, farming, or the 1950s in America, there is something to pique your interest.
During those two amazing summers, I had the opportunity to work with a number of talented and passionate people who have dedicated their lives to preserving out country’s history. My fellow interns, the seasonal, and permanent rangers at EISE and the neighboring Gettysburg National Military Park had a tremendous impact on my life. They showed me that it is possible to embrace your dreams and I am eternally grateful to the NPS for that realization. The photograph I chose to share shows me with my fellow interns, celebrating the end of that wonderful experience.
