Greetings from Badlands National Park

I love parks and I have turned this love into a career. I currently attend South Dakota State University for park management. This summer I worked for the state parks as an intern and I learned so much from my experiences, but the one experience I want to share is about a couple from England. They had stopped at the park for the night and as I was helping them they told me about why they where here in the USA. They had come to see as many of the National Parks as they could in the three months they were here. They shared with me their experiences at each of the parks they have visited so far and their plans for the rest of their trip. Their adventures sounded amazing. After talking with them, a few days later a mother and her daughter from Germany stayed at the park and said that it was her dream to visit the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. I wondered why they would travel so far when Europe has many tourism spots then I thought of my visit to Denmark about three years ago and i saw many of their historical cities, and museums, but they do not have as many parks and none as big and beautiful as we do here. They come to the US to see our National Parks because they have nothing like them anywhere else in the world. I am proud of our national Parks and hope that I can travel to each one and experience them each my self.

Sincerely,
Katie
