Greetings from Mount Rainier National Park

My husband and I recently visited Mount Rainier National Park for the first time. We made a two-day backpacking trip to the South Puyallup River campground and hiked up to Emerald Ridge to see our first glacier! This hike was very uphill, but it was worth it when we reached the alpine meadow at the top of Emerald Ridge. We saw a hoary marmot and viewed it in our binoculars as it gave out shrill whistles at our presence. We found our new favorite flower, the pasqueflower, pictured here. We are looking forward to visiting Mount Rainier again soon!

Sincerely,
Amelia
