Greetings from Grand Canyon National Park

I remember when I was a kid in the late 40’s/50’s and, I believe it was Chevron or Shell, who gave large (14 × 16/18) colored pictures of all our National Parks. The photo images were both beautiful and engaging, cementing my interest there in forever! The first National Park I visited was The Grand Canyon West rim where I was as completely enthralled with the Hopi presence as I was with the Canyon itself, as I suppose most 9 year olds would have been. From this point forward I became a stalwart fan of our National Park system. Following visits to Yellowstone, Yosemite and others I finally purchased a Gold Card at the Olympic National Park entitling me to “free” admission going forward. It is a little more than troubling to witness the unnecessary compromising of these Treasures by our current misguided administration.

Sincerely,
John

Grand Canyon National Park

America’s Southwest is full of breathtaking canyons, but none as famous or as widely visited as the Grand Canyon. This world-famous landmark offers wondrous views, spectacular hiking, exhilarating whitewater rafting and countless adventures. One look across the enormous chasm confirms just why this inspirational place is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a must-see destination for so many travelers. The park also protects a wealth of biological diversity, including numerous endemic and threatened species and several rare ecosystems.
