My husband and I visited Acadia N.P. last week and as we toured the park we would keep finding places that reminded us of some of the other National Parks we visited in the past. Driving the hills along the evergreen forests reminded us of drives in Crater Lake NP and Sand Beach reminded us of one beach stop in Olympia NP, sans all of the giant redwood logs and hiking on a wet, foggy morning near Sieur de Monts reminded us of similar conditions encountered in Redwood NP. The views of the rocky coast are breathtaking and the lakes, ponds, streams and waterfalls are an affirmation of why so many people are drawn to water in all its forms. It is great to know that there is a National Park on the East Coast that rivals the beauty of our western parks.
