Greetings from Grand Teton National Park

This is a picture of me at the top of Grand Teton mountain! This took a total of two days (and a lot of effort) to get to the peak which is where this picture is taken. Before this climb, I never really appreciated the national parks in our country or gave them a second thought. After climbing this mountain, I have a much stronger appreciation for nature and am grateful for our country’s national parks. This experience humbled me, surprised me, and was something I will never forget. Thank you Grand Teton National Park for allowing me to be able to climb Grand Teton Mountain!

Sincerely,
Grier Poole

Grand Teton National Park

This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.

State(s): Wyoming

Established: 1929
