Greetings from San Juan National Historic Site

If I had not studied and got my master degree in U.S., I can hardly imagine travel to Caribbean and consider this area as a travel destination–and even twice! The first time I went to San Juan was last December, which was part of a Caribbean cruise. At that time, when I stood on the 5th level of the fort, I told myself to keep everything in mind and in camera, because that may be the only time in my whole life I stay in this city. However, when my parents decided come here to attend my graduation ceremony and travel in U.S., I recommended Puerto Rico as a destination, because of its gorgeous landscape and this national park. When I stand on the forts, these buildings gave me different understanding of the Caribbean seas. In Bahamas, in Virgin Islands, the seas are clear, soft and gentle. Only in San Juan, the lagoons and the forts made the sea alive and even aggressive. In this place, you can feel, as a human, how small we are when confronting with the ocean. However, in this place, we can also feel, as a human, how strong we are that we built these great forts when facing the unbounded ocean.

Sincerely,
Yixi
