Greetings from Virgin Islands National Park

This was National Park #20 of our all 59 yearlong tour and the first park we had to fly to! My wife and I spent four days exploring the island paradise of Virgin Islands National Park on the island of St. John.

We hiked the mountainous trails to sugar plantation ruins at Reef Bay and stunning panoramas on Ram’s Head Point. We camped at Cinnamon Bay just 25 steps from pristine sandy beach (but this was expected since every beach we visited in USVI was gorgeous). And, as you can see, we did the best snorkeling of my life in the beautiful reefs in Trunk Bay and Maho Bay. We saw about a dozen sea turtles, remora, sting rays, reef squid, trumpet fish and countless tropical fish (and we got it all on our GoPro)!

Getting back from the park was an adventure in itself. Our departure day consisted of 7 different modes of transportation: taxi, hike, ferry, bus, hike again, plane, shuttle, drive. But our amazing trip to the sun and sands of Virgin Islands NP was more than worth it!
