Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I was a young man away from home on my own traveling across the country for the first time. I had heard of Yosemite and that it’s a site to see and so made a point of going a bit out of my way to see it during my travels. The road that I was on approaches the park from fairly high up from the valley floor and was very wooded. The road wasn’t short and so I traveled what seemed a fair while on this wooded roadway that afforded me no view at all. Finally the woods began to give way and brought me to a curve on the road that when I rounded it the spectacle of the Yosemite valley and the enormity of it hit all at once. In that moment I was as amazed as I’ve ever been in my life and could barely believe what I was seeing. Over forty years later I am still filled with the wonder and amazement that struck me coming around that corner.

Sincerely,
jamie lowe
