In 1993 my husband (at the time) and our two boys, attached our pop up camper to our mini-van and hit the road from Maine late in June and headed west to see and enjoy the beauty and splendor of our country. Our sons were nine and eleven years old then. We had been to Acadia National Park previously and wanted to get to the Pacific Ocean and see what we could in between the two oceans. We were blessed with good weather and about three and one half weeks to see what we could of our national parks. While the boys have some memories of our trip, they remember more after viewing our pictures taken at the dozen or more national park sites we visited, covering 24 of our states. It was a trip of the lifetime and instilled in the boys a love of country, the outdoors and the need to keep it protected. Every person in the US should have the opportunity to see at least some of our national treasures.
