This four-acre memorial in Washington, D.C., honors America's 34th president, who served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in World War II and led the invasion of Normandy in 1944.

At the heart of the memorial are several sculptures of Eisenhower, including nine-foot bronze statues of him with his soldiers standing beneath a quote from his D-Day speech: “The tide has turned: The free men of the world are marching together to victory!” Behind the statues, a large tapestry of stainless steel cables depicts the Normandy coast.
