Amy J. Wong is a Chinese American woman, experienced community leader, and dedicated environmental justice advocate.
Growing up in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, she enjoyed spending time with her family in the pockets of nature around her neighborhood, riding bikes on the Rio Hondo River trail and picnicking at Whittier Narrows. It’s her love for family, nature, and community that motivates her to give back to her community.
She manages climate projects as a Program Specialist at Active San Gabriel Valley, and has over six years of experience leading public health and environmental justice initiatives at community nonprofits in the San Gabriel Valley. She also serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of El Monte. Formerly, she worked as the Coalition Coordinator for Nature for All, a coalition of organizations working to further protect the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument.
