- NPCA Region: Northeast
Having grown up in New England as a Brooklyn native, Lauren currently serves as a Senior Program Manager for NPCA’s Northeast Region. Since Lauren started with NPCA in 2014, she has worked to bolster nation-wide park funding, restore natural, historical and cultural resources and build a movement for community-led stewardship and advocacy for Northeast national parks.
Her urban programs are anchored at both New York City’s Jamaica Bay unit of Gateway National Recreation Area and the greater Boston area, so she can focus on bringing more federal funding to our national historic sites and working to improve access to waterfront national recreation areas. She works closely with partners in Maine and on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail to prevent harmful legislation, funding shortfalls and to activate new user groups for national parks.
As a board member of the Coney Island Beautification Project, Lauren plays a vital role bringing together gateway communities in response to environmental hazards through beautification, education and advocacy. She also sits on the Citizen Advisory Committee for the NY Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery Living Breakwaters project in Staten Island, NY.
Lauren is a graduate of St. Michael’s College in Vermont and is currently pursuing an MBA in Sustainable Business from Baruch College, City University of New York.
