Southwest Regional Office Field Reports

NPCA’s Southwest Regional Office prepares a field report twice a year that focuses on the parks and people of this special part of the country. We also highlight some of the very complex and challenging threats our parks face.

In the Summer | Fall 2021 Southwest Region Field Report (pdf, 520 KB) we highlight:

  • Too Much of a Good Thing on park overcrowding
  • Moving Forward, our optimistic outlook for the Southwest
  • Protecting the Chaco Cultural Landscape on recent developments in a long campaign
  • Drilling at Dinosaur’s Doorstep on the indefatigable efforts to keep oil and gas away from DINO
  • Introducing Davina Smith, an introduction to our new Southeast Utah Organizer and Tribal Coordinator
  • The Lands Between on the coalition protection/Tribal leadership effort in Southeast Utah
  • Amache Bill Moves Forward to Commemorate Living History celebrating recent good news from Congress for Amache
