• Park Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park commemorates the two-week clash that launched General Sherman's Atlanta campaign during the Civil War.
• Park Richmond National Battlefield Park Richmond National Battlefield Park commemorates the importance of the city as the capital of the Confederacy during the Civil War. The park consists of 10 units. Visitors can start their tour with the visitor center at the old site of the Tredegar Iron Works.
• Park Tupelo National Battlefield Tupelo National Battlefield is a monument to a two-day clash during the Civil War that enabled Sherman's army to continue its March to the Sea.
• Park Monocacy National Battlefield This site preserves the Civil War engagement near Monocacy River in July 1864 known as “The Battle That Saved Washington.” On that day, Union troops met with advancing Confederate soldiers on their way to Fort Stevens in Washington, D.C.; although Union forces were outmanned, they were able to delay the Confederates, allowing reinforcements to arrive to defend Washington. President Lincoln watched some of the fighting from the ramparts at Fort Stevens, making him the only sitting president to come under direct fire during a hostile action.
