Greetings from Canyonlands National Park

My wife Deb and I spent some magical time camping and hiking in the ‘wilderness’ of Canyonlands many years ago. I love the red rock country. It breaks my heart to see the current political efforts to disgrace this land with truly unneeded oil and mineral development. President Teddy Roosevelt warned us about this and urged us to protect our national heritage. This is the land that I love. I want my great grandchildren to be able to explore it as I have.

Sincerely,
Ron

Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park preserves an immense desert wilderness sculpted by the Green and Colorado rivers and featuring hundreds of colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches and spires. The Island in the Sky District is the most accessible and popular section of the park — a mesa with spectacular views of the surrounding canyons. The Needles is a vaster territory below the Island in the Sky where visitors can hike among the sandstone spires and breathtaking rocks.
